The best glider out there is the one suited to your own skill level and flying style. The vast number of wings available is great for us pilots as it keeps prices competitive and drives technology. This can, however, make it very difficult to choose a new wing.
Who do you ask?
Most will say to listen to your instructor, and this is the best advice, but it does come with a caveat. Your instructor will have seen you training and will know what wing suits your level, but some instructors may also select your wing based solely on the wings they stock.
With this in mind, here are some key points to consider when choosing your wing:
