Ozone have released the new Delta 2, their benchmark EN C wing.

The company say the wing is now certified and in production in the ML size (85-105kg). Five other sizes are still undergoing testing.

Ozone said their mission for the glider was to “retain the comfort, safety, and ease of use of the original, but take the performance to the next level.”

They added: “In addition to that, we wanted to fine-tune the handling and cultivate a more fun and playful feel.”

The result, they added, is that the Delta 2 is a “complete redesign from top to bottom” and it “represents a new direction for the series.”

As well as the obvious shark’s nose which has made its way down from the R11, Ozone say they have reduced line-drag by 26%. “This, combined with the overall increase in efficiency and the benefits of the shark nose profile, has allowed us to reduce the total wing area,” they say.

Matt Gerdes from Ozone added: “We believe we have produced a truly superb wing which we think represents an entirely new revolution in the Sport-Performance Class.”
