MipFly have unveiled the next-generation evolution of their flagship flight instrument. Redesigned from the ground up, the OneX preserves the open-source spirit and trusted VarioQt software of the original MipFly One while delivering significant hardware upgrades in a lighter, sleeker package.
Key features include thermal and XC assistant, built-in centring visualiser, quick navigation to the last thermal core, and instant real-time wind calculation. A 4.2″ reflective LCD at 300×400 delivers noticeably sharper maps and more readable data fields than the MipFly One, with the same “excellent sunlight readability” and no backlight to drain the battery, say Mipfly.
At 171 g the OneX is more than 30% lighter than the MipFly One but with its physical buttons is still “glove friendly”. A 5,000 mAh lithium-ion battery delivers more than 20 hours of continuous operation — longer than the MipFly One from a smaller, lighter cell, thanks to the more efficient processor and reflective display.
The MipFly OneX offers fully configurable vario sounds, including frequency, tone, and interval settings It includes detailed maps, airspace alerts, wind direction and speed indicators, thermal assistance, and task navigation features for cross-country flights. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both built in for data synchronisation, firmware updates and live tracking.
