Alfapilot’s M16 is a sophisticated flight computer based on an eBook reader.
It has GPS and GLONASS sensors, plus sensitive barometer, humidity and temperature sensors whose readings are clearly displayed on its 15cm sunlight-readable greyscale e-ink display.
The M16 is WiFi enabled, and comes preinstalled with Alfapilot’s in-house SeRi Fly navigation software, XCSoar, and XCtrack. It runs Android so you can download applications from the Play Store.
Alfapilot quote 15hours’ battery life in flight computer mode, though of course it’s more than a flight computer. You can read books, listen to music, check your emails or browse the internet with it too, while you wait for your retrieve.
