‘Entering the white room’ is a term that was first coined by legendary Himalayan adventure pilot John Silvester. It’s that slightly illicit, exciting thrill of momentarily entering a cumulus cloud, the world a white cotton ball, before BAM you are out, the sun glinting in your face, pristine cloud beneath you, your brocken spectre dancing along it. Just magic. And not something that happens often – because we’re all sensible pilots and avoid cloud suck. But here’s a T-shirt dedicated to the expression. Because we’re lifers in this game of paragliding, and these moments of beauty and wonder matter.
