U-Turn’s new Obsession II is a high-end LTF 1-2 wing. Designed with speed and gliding performance as priority, and with dynamic handling, it is aimed at regular flyers and is not recommended as a training wing.
It was based on their competition glider and then brought into the safety specs of the 1-2 category, and the company are very proud of the outcome. They say that it achieves a glide angle of 9 with a regular harness, 9.5 with an aerodynamic one. The sail shape is different to that of the original Obsession, and it has one fewer cells and fewer line attachment points. The tension of the rear edge has also been slightly reduced. The result is the performance and stability combination desired, a minimal turning sink rate and slightly easier take off characteristcs. U-Turn’s trade-mark long accelerator travel has been retained, allowing for exact control and high top speed.
The Obsession II is available in five sizes (LTF 1-2 certified in S, M and L).
