There are three FAI-sanctioned free-flying competitions scheduled to take place in Sopot in Bulgaria this summer, and all are open to overseas pilots.

First is the Bulgaria Open, which takes place 1 – 6 May. For only 45 € entry fee (before 1 April) you get transport to take-off, retrieve, mountain rescue standby, maps and GPS turnpoits and scoring. The event is for both hang gliders and paragliders. Depending on numbers, there may be two separate tasks and start windows each day.

Register on the Bulgaria Open website.

The Skynomad Open takes place at the same venue from 1-6 August, followed a week later (7 – 13 August) by the Czech Open.
