The Coupe Icare was a wash-out, with torrential rain lashing down on the French alpine village during both days of the weekend.
However, in the calm before the storm pilots enjoyed balmy late summer conditions on the Friday.
Two good nights of music were some compensation for the cancellation of the fancy dress masquerade. House/percussion group Sema Yema, London DJ Sam Moffett, and UP’s Peter Brinkeby played rocking sets to a raucous crowd on Friday and Saturday nights.
The exhibition tents were quiet on Friday but packed out on Saturday, with pilots visiting from as far as the USA and New Zealand. Star attractions were the inflatable ‘Woopy’ glider, and the new lightweight Swift from Aerian.
