Nova’s superlight Montis harness and Inverto reversible rucksack / airbag are designed for mountaineering. Together they form the Montis+, which weighs just 1.3kg.
The minimalist Montis is just 320g (M size), and has split leg loops and skinny Dyneema straps with friction buckles to minimise weight, and a carefully thought-out geometry which Nova say avoids pressure points, for comfortable flights. It is available in two sizes, M (165-180cm) and L (up to 195cm), the two sizes being designed individually rather than one being a scaled up or down version of the other.
The 60l Inverto mountain rucksack has a comfortable carry system with mesh-covered perforated-foam straps and a compression system to cinch the load. When reversed, it forms an airbag for the Montis harness, which protects the pilot’s back and posterior.
Nova say the 60 litre rucksack volume is ample for a well-folded wing plus helmet, reserve and clothes. It has a lid compartment and easy-access mesh side pockets, plus an ice-axe stowage system.
