Jonny Durand (AU) was declared the winner of the 2008 Canungra Classic, finishing 19 points ahead of second-placed Attila Bertok (HU).
The win came amidst a certain controversy though: Jonny was unable to fly on the first day, being sick from food poisoning, so was marked down as a Did Not Fly (DNF). This would usually mean a score iof 0, but instead Jonny was scored 153 minimum distance points, and in the end this made the difference between him finishing first and second overall.
Some people are calling for this “scoring error” to be corrected, and for Attila to be declared the winner.
Undisputed third-placed pilot overall was 19 year old Spaniard, Blay Olmos, who is hotly tipped for the future.
