“We flew, we ate, we danced like Bollywood stars.”

The Sikkim Paragliding Festival in November was a chance for pilots from across India and Nepal to meet up and fly in this small, mountainous state in the north east of India.

Bordering Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan Sikkim is perfect for pilots looking for adventure: we went along to find out for ourselves, and once the party was over headed off out west, for a hike-and-fly of Himalayan proportions.

Out front two cu’s bubbled up from the valley and sat in front of the pass 500m below us without being flattened by the sinking west wind. A light breeze rippled up our sunny north east facing slope.

Join Jim Orava, Sanjay Pendulkar, Raju Rai, Arjun Rai and Cross Country as they head into the high country to fly the borderlands of Sikkim.
