Sky Paragliders say the Apollo 3, their new EN-B paraglider, is “the perfect blend of comfort and performance”.
They bill it as a “mid-to-high” EN-B, which is suitable for newcomers to XC or pilots stepping down a class. “If there’s one thing that stands out about the APOLLO 3”, Sky say, “It’s its ability to handle thermal conditions”.
It has 57 cells and a flat aspect ratio of 5.8. It is a classic three-liner with split As for big ears, so all SIV training manoeuvres can be flown with no problems. It has a BC steering system with pulleys on the Bs to reduce the load, and comfortable BC handles.
Sky say the ‘triple 3D cut’ – two cuts on the upper surface, one on the lower – ensures a clean and highly efficient profile with excellent internal pressure. The wing is simple to launch, very durable and easy to pack.
In addition, Sky say the leading-edge pocket reinforcements on the lower intakes prevent cell vibrations at higher speeds.
