Polish manufacturer Dudek are releasing a new iteration of the Orca tandem wing. The EN B Orca 6 will be released in the coming weeks aimed at both occasional tandem pilots and as a workhorse for active professionals.
“We developed a wing that we would like to use ourselves as professionals,” they say.
Its characteristics include inflating efficiently with little wind, with no tendency to overshoot.
“We designed and trimmed the glider to achieve a predictable and smooth yet playful pitch behaviour. Turns are pleasant and reactive, with limited brake pressure. We paid attention to the flare capacity, which is intuitive and effective in various conditions,” Dudek says.
They add that it’s made with their customary focus on high production quality and durability. They use Dominico for most of the wing with Porcher cloth on the leading edge which they claim gives the wing additional resilience, even in abrasive and coastal environments. “All in all, we are very proud of the Orca 6.”
Also on the way is a new harness dedicated for tandems called “pilot” and “passenger”, which can be seen in the image above. Dudek say they expect to release this soon.
The size 41 has a weight range of 120kg to 220kg.
