Delta Fly Adventures hang gliding school near Stadskanaal, Netherlands will be hosting the new Free Air 2024 festival 7-9 June.
The organisers say on their website: “Our country is flat, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love flying.”
During the festival, airotow-rated pilots can fly from the school’s own airfield. Advanced pilots can team up with new pilots in a “fun competition” and there will also be workshops, lectures, tandem flights, a VR-hang gliding simulator, a photography contest and equipment demonstrations.
The organisers say: “The event is for everyone: from experienced, competitive pilots to beginners; for those who have been flying for a long time and those who have never seen a hang glider up close.”
Free Air 2024 is the first edition of this festival and organisers say they are “still working on finalising the program”. Updates will be published on their website during the next few weeks.
