Austrian manufacturer Airwave have created a mini glider, the Rodeo, for high wind soaring and fun ground handling sessions.
They say, “It’s fast, fun and a perfect companion on a windy dune” … “If it was a normal sized wing it would be a cool LTF 1-2 glider, but as it is so much smaller than a standard wing, it is much nippier with agile, responsive handing to match”.
The Rodeo is made from strong, standard-weight fabrics and at 17.5 m2 it rips along at 45 km/h with a 75 kg pilot. However it is certified to take weights from 40 kg and up, and could be a good wing choice for a very lightweight pilot.
