AirDesign’s EN-C intermediate/expert paraglidier, the Volt 2, is now certified in a Super Light (SL) version.
A “lightweight performer for cross-country pilots”, it weighs 3.6kg in the smallest (XS) size, and is aimed at XC fanatics, vol-bivouac enthusiasts and those wishing to reduce the weight of their kit.
The Volt 2 SL uses lightweight double-coated Porcher Skytex 27 for the bottom-sail, ribs and part of the top-sail, and has race lines and softlinks as standard (although you can order it with regular riser maillons if you prefer).
There are just three line levels, with two main lines on each and the risers are “robust”, facilitating line sorting.
AD say the Volt 2 SL has a softer and more direct feel than the standard Volt 2, but otherwise “the same agile and responsive nature, and class-leading performance”.
Four sizes, XS to M, are certified EN/LTF C for weight ranges from 60-105kg. There are no plans to produce a Super Light version of the L size.
