The 20th Lakes Charity Classic (LCC) hang gliding and paragliding festival will be held over the weekend of 4 – 6 June 2010 on the shores of lake Buttermere in the English Lake District.
You can fly and camp on site from the Thursday night, in a campsite described as “basic, but with a view to die for”. The competitions are held on the Friday 4 and Saturday 5 June (all proceeds going to local charities) – see the Cumbria Soaring Club’s website for how to enter.
The famous Buttermere Bash, this year organised by Air Ventures, is on the Saturday night and follows Spanish acro ace Felix Rodriguez’ acro show. The party will go on well into Sunday morning, music courtesy of Music of Sevens, the Iron Weed Project, Paolo’s band and DJ Slate. Those seeking a quieter campsite are invited to check out the Dalegarth Guesthouse and campsite. The locals will make sure there is plenty of Thirst Flight, their special ale, as well as lots of other beverages to fuel the dancing.
