Steve Nash’s wife Shirley has sent her thanks to the many people who attended Steve’s funeral at the end of September.
In an email, which she asked us to share here, she said: “Thank you to everyone for attending the funeral and for coming to the celebration of Steve’s life afterwards.
“I was so overwhelmed by the number of people from all corners of the UK, Germany, Austria and Spain, and I’m sorry I did not manage to see or speak to every one.”
She added: “Donations collected on the day for the Llanberis Mountain Rescue are almost £1,000 – amazing thank you.”
Donations to Steve’s Just Giving page have also topped £5,300. It remains open for online donations to the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation.
Steve was killed in an attack in Mongolia while on a vol-bivouac trip in August. His funeral was held at the Vale Royal Crematorium in England on 28 September 2016.
