Hang Gliding

The Skynch is a solo winch that hang glider and paraglider pilots can mount on their car tow hitch, and operate by remote control to launch themselves unaided.

Further places are now available in the European Hang Gliding Championship (for Class 1, flexwings) which is to be held in Ager in July.

The Canadian Hang Gliding Championship 2010 takes place in Lumby, BC, from 13 - 19 June.

The FIA El Yelmo International Air film festival in Andalucia, Spain, takes place on 1 - 4 July 2010. The deadline for submissions to the film and photo contests is 18 June.

Rodrigo de Obeso has won the Mexican Open hang gliding championships which were held from 16 - 24 April 2010 at the sites of San Marcos and Tapalpa, Mexico.

The Austrian Ministry of Transport's new ZLLV 2010 (decree for civil aircraft and airsport devices) is expected to be in force by May 2010. It means that non-motorised paragliders, hang gliders and parachutes no longer have to be registered in Austria.

The United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) are holding their first annual National Hang Gliding & Paragliding Day, to promote the sports in their country. It will be on Memorial Day, 29 May 2010.
