In the 1930s the Jungfrau-Stafette race created a sensation in Switzerland. Revived last year for the first time, the 21st century version is just as amazing.
The adventure, a relay race involving 13 stages on land, water and in the air, will traverse Switzerland beginning on 4 October.
More than 500 athletes will cover the 533-kilometre route on foot, on wheels, on skis and in aeroplanes and kayaks, to try to win the Silver Eagle trophy.
For details of the route, exceptional participants, exclusive vintage racing cars, motorcycles and aeroplanes, the best locations for spectators and other surprises, see the website at www.redbulljungfraustafette.com or sign up now for the monthly newsletter: “The Flight of the Silver Eagle”, here.
The relay race is open to everyone who can join forces to form a complete team. The deadline for registration is 30 June 2008.
