Nova’s Ion Light is a lightweight paraglider suitable for beginners through to XC pilots. It is certified EN B / LTF 1-2 in five sizes, which covers flying weights from 60 – 130 kg.
The low-level intermediate wing is based on the well-proven Ion, but weighs up to 35 % less (depending on size), although, Nova say, this is not at the expense of durability: it is designed to be a fully robust everyday wing, and comes with Nova’s full warranty.
The glider is made from 34 g/m2 Porcher Skytex and uses robust nylon rods in the leading edge in place of Mylar. The risers are 15 mm in width.
Nova say the lightweight version handles and performs like the standard Ion, whilst the lighter fabrics mean that, in the unlikely event of a closure, the wing will reopen even more gently. It also makes it even easier to launch, and the benefits of lightweight kit to anyone who travels or walks to launch, are undisputed.
