On 3 November 2016 Niviuk released the Bi Skin 2P – a single-surface tandem wing that weighs just 3.3kg and is EN-B certified.
The 31m² wing is certified for loads of up to to 190kg, and Niviuk say it is confidence-inspiring and surprisingly agile to fly. It launches easily with a short take-off run and in very little wind, and its short brake travel makes it very responsive and the handling very direct.
There are six closed cells on the wing, which is made from 32g Porcher cloth with the leading edge in 38g cloth. Flexible Nitinol rods add durability and form stability. The risers are lightweight 12mm Kevlar webbing with trimmers, and the lines are unsheathed aramid, with Dyneema brake lines.
