Niviuk unveil new products ahead of Coupe Icare

13 September, 2024

With just over a week before the Coupe Icare, Niviuk have showcased what’s new for 2024-2025. They’ve created two new intermediate EN B wings, the Hiko and a lightweight version, the Hiko P, situated between the Hook and Ikuma in their range. They say the Hiko is “the perfect compromise between passive safety and performance to commence your first long distance flights”.

“It is an accessible and easy to handle wing for pilots in the progression stage, offering superior performance in its category,” they say. “It also meets the needs of more experienced XC pilots and offers a middle ground between training gliders and high performance EN B gliders such as the Ikuma.” The Hiko P is an ultra-light all-rounder that is about a kilo lighter (2.9kg for the size 20).

There’s also a new iteration of the Artik. The Artik 7 P is an an ultra-light, mountain cross-country EN C that’s aimed at hike-and-fly enthusiasts which offers “exceptional balance between performance and lightness”. They say the wing is “a new generation three-liner that combines the best of the two and three-liners in a single model.”

At only 3.07kg for the size 20, the Artik 7 P is compact, with a robust and ultra-light internal structure, made from the Klimber P. The top surface is made of Dokdo 32 and 25g, the lower surface of Dokdo 25g and the ribs combine Dokdo 32g and Skytex 27g.

The company also announced the forthcoming releases of two new paramotor wings, the Link 3 and the Qubik 2, as well as new bags and other accessories.

Niviuk will be in St Hilaire from 18 to 22 September. They will be hosting Jean-Yves Fredriksen and Liv Sansoz and Zeb Roche, who all flew from the summit of K2 in July, on their stand on the afternoon of Saturday 21 September – it will be a chance to hear about this remarkable adventure from the pilots themselves. “Visit us and get answers to any questions you may have.”
