Felix Wolk is one of paragliding’s strongest photographers. His latest mission was to Spain…
We had a mission: Spain or bust. The Pyrenees, specifically the Spanish paragliding paradise of Castejon de Sos. The starter motor of our rusty VW van whined and groaned but pretty soon we were heading south, trailing peace, love and happiness behind.
The missing exhaust pipe gave our rolling home a somewhat low-class image, but in our hearts (and in the interior design) we bore a burning neo-hippie soul of the 21st century: a steering wheel clad in tiger print; an authentic flashy disco ball; the random skeleton on a string hanging from the rearview mirror; along with an external power amp and a humongous subwoofer.
We bound red bandanas around our wrists and drove down the highway, windows open, arms out, air rushing in and paid due respect to the oldies but goodies with all-time classics from Jerry Garcia and Al ‘Blind Owl’ Wilson. This was living On the Road to the max! Let the good times roll…
Follow Felix as he rolls down to Spain to fly the endless winds of the Pyrenees.
