The Flying High testival takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria from 18 – 20 May 2024. Registration is open online.
Mayrhofen in the Zillertal valley, Austria near Innsbruck is a well known playground for paraglider and hang-glider pilots with great cross-country potential in the valley and beyond including the infamous Pinzgau highway. Over thirty manufacturers will be heading to the valley for the Flying High testival.
Paragliders, harnesses, varios and much more will be available for testing. Organisers say there will be shuttles to the nearby recently updated cable car that will whisk pilots to an astro-turfed launch at 1,500m above the landing field. From there they will have views of the whole Zillertal valley as they enjoy the thermic conditions, before heading down to the large landing field.
As well as the flying there will be plenty of other attractions. In the landing there will be refreshments and a barbecue station. Each evening will see and acro show from the “Synchro Team Airbound” along with a sundowner DJ set and live music. Pilots taking part will be given tickets for the raffle draw.
