Re-live the highs and lows of the X-Pyr – the race across the Pyrenees

The X-Pyr is one of the world’s premier multi-day, hike-and-fly paragliding endurance races. It takes place every two years in the Pyrenees, the mountain range that divides France from Spain.

Pilots must cross the entire range from west to east, using only foot and paraglider, starting in the Bay of Biscay and finishing by touching down on a beach next to the Mediterranean Sea.

Inspired by the legendary Red Bull X-Alps, the X-Pyr is often seen as a stepping stone event, attracting big names and rookies alike.

The X-Pyr 2024 took place in the last week of June 2024 and was won by Simon Oberrauner.
