The wild Atlantic coast of Portugal offers year-round sun, sea and flying along its length. Close to its southern tip there are secret spots that make the perfect flying hideaway for souls who like to soar. Photographer Werner Luidolt joined the locals

“There will be no flying weather,” said my friend who lives south of Lisbon. “Yes, we’ll fly!” said my other friend, Tomy Hofbauer.

I was the only one who trusted Tomy’s advice, so the big group we had planned became much smaller until there were only three of us. In the end, we got airborne on five days out of six.
