Heading south: Where to fly in the northern winter

Six of the best places to get your flying fix

As the northern hemisphere’s last thermals fizzle out, pilots in the north start to head east to India or migrate south to get their winter flying fix.

Closest to Europe, the flying is still on in October in Oludeniz, Turkey, with lots of SIV courses scheduled for the month. The season closes with the Oludeniz Air Games, which this year run 23-27 October. The sea is still good for swimming, too.
