Paragliding World Cup Superfinal 2010: Monday and Tuesday 27 and 28 September

28 September, 2010

Paragliding World Cup logoTask 5 on Monday was a 72.4 km elapsed time task, with conditions most favourable at the start of the window. The task winner also happened to be the first pilot to cross the start line, Romanian Daniel Alex Chiuhandu. He made goal in a time of 1h 55′ 6″, one of only 4 pilots to cross the goal line. 3 others made it into the cylinder, but did not cross the line.

The first woman was Japanese pilot Noriko Mizunuma.

For today, the entourage moved 75 km to the SSW of Pamukkale in search of better weather. A 79.8km race to goal task was set, but in the end it had to be cancelled due to high winds.

A meal with free beer was planned for tonight, with entertainment from Turkish belly dancers, before everyone headed back to Pamukkale for tomorrow.
