Skyman have unveiled the CrossAlps, their lightweight LTF/EN C glider, that has proven its performance abilities in the capable hands of Toma Coconea, who came third in this year’s X-Pyr hike-and-fly race on one.
Skyman say the CrossAlps combines performance and speed with safety in a compact and light package.
Designed for real-life hike-and-fly or mountain adventures, the CrossAlps has nice touches that include a ‘take-off support’ to halp launch from a steep or icy slope, or with a backwind.
The ‘take-off support’, which is used to prevent the glider from slipping in steep or icy terrain or in backwind conditions.
The risers are dyneema, but have a strand of red running through them so it is easy to tell if they are twisted, and using eyelets, instead of conventional brake pulleys, keeps weight down. Skyman have also used low-drag loops instead of traditional line-attachment points, eliminating a bit more drag.
