Last week the Vågå pg open made its first apperance in the comp sky in what is planned to be a yearly event.
Norwegians, Swedes, a Brit, a Greek and a Lituanian attended the contest but unforunately had little luck with weather. Flying was possible every day but, only two tasks were possible in the end, one in the Vågå valley and one in Böverdalen. The winner was the ever happy Ronny Helgesen flying his Ozone R09 to victory. Second place went to Swede Kristian Andersson living in Stavanger, Norway; third to Bodö local John “Teddyhill” Björnback.
The sport class was won by Lars Tore Strand flying a Gradient Avax XC2.
Prizes from Advance, Airwave, Plusmax and Blueye were awarded to the top three in both classes.
Despite the bad luck with the weather on this occasion, the area of Vågå has fantastic XC and competition potential and the organisers of the Vågå PG Open hope that t will be selected for next year’s Nordics.
