Arkadiusz Sabat is Poland’s first speedriding champion

Poland held its first unofficial speed riding championships on Friday 4 March in the Polish ski resort of Laworta on South-East Poland. Arkadiusz Sabat was the winner.

Great weather and snow conditions awere reported and three runs were carried out by the 15 competitors.

In what organisers described as a “nail-biting “finish, Jan Grzonkowski who had lead up until then was outrun by Arkadiusz, who finished the overall winner and unofficial champion.

Third-placed Jerzy Kraus eeked onto the podium by 0.02 seconds, which was the time he beat fourth-placed Leszek Mańkowski.

The event gathered some great prizes, and Arkadiusz went home with a new Zig-Zag 12 speed riding wing, courtesy of sponsors Dudek.
