The Paragliding World Championships take place in Piedrahita, Spain in 2011. There will be a pre-Worlds competition at the same location from 10 – 17 July 2010.
In order to enable the most qualified pilots to compete, the competition will initially be open to those pilots in the top 1500 of the WPRS rankings. This criteria may be adjusted later, depending on the demand for competition places.
If you do not meet the criteria but still would like to compete, organisers urge you to register now and they will contact you if the criteria change.
They will also consider applications from experienced pilots who have a low WPRS ranking because they have not competed recently.
The entry fee is 246 € if paid before 20 May 2010, 270 € after this date.
Registration is open now – see the online form on their website – but credit card and PayPal payments will not be available for several days. It is possible to pay using bank transfer now.
