The beautiful Alpine town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is hosting the winter Nissan Outdoor Games for the second consecutive year, on the weekend of 20 – 21 February. A film competition with an adrenaline-fuelled, extreme sports focus, the teams have the seven days preceeding the event to create a short film of less than five minutes’ duration, and 20 pictures. Over the weekend the public will have the opportunity to try climbing and ice-climbing, and to watch paragliding, speed riding and BASE jumping displays. Giant screens will be installed in Chamonix for the film viewing and judging on the Saturday night.
The team selection is now complete. For safety reasons numbers have been limited to five teams. As expected, all of the teams are filled with big names in paragliding, hang gliding, BASE jumping, snowboarding, skiing and wingsuit flying. Details of the teams can be seen at www.outdoorgames.fr.
The Ride the Planets team, who won last year, are teaming up with sponsors Julbo to create a competition for would-be fim-makers to script their film. The winner will become their honorary director! More info on www.ridetheplanets.com or www.julbo-eyewear.com
