Wills Wing‘s Mike Meier was presented with an award from the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) in March 2015 for a technical paper he had written on “Lessons Learned and Murphy’s Corollary”.
The Jack Northrop Award for the Most Outstanding Technical Paper was presented at the 45th Annual West Coast Symposium of the SETP; Mike’s winning paper derived from the concepts in his article for Hang Gliding and Paragliding Magazine, “Why Can’t We Get A Handle On This Safety Thing.”
The Jack Northrop Award was established in 1976 to recognize the most outstanding technical paper presented at the annual Society of Experimental Test Pilots San Diego Symposium. The award is determined by a panel of judges at the completion of the Symposium. The award, consisting of a trophy and cash honorarium, is presented at the San Diego Banquet.
