Brazilian Gustavo Ferreira won the first of three rounds of the XC Open Series for 2011, which was held in Araxá, Brazil in October 2010.
Weather conditions allowed only two valid tasks, and changing wind directions part way through both tasks foreshortened the distances achieved. Gustavo won on a serial class Niviuk Peak, and fellow Brazilians Eduardo Fernandes Neves (Sol) and Richard Pethigal (Swing) were second and third. Richard will be competing in the 2011 Red Bull X-Alps next July.
