Gin have released their new lightweight EN-A hike-and-fly and mountain wing. They say the Yeti 6 is all about discovery!
It is certified EN A in four sizes in standard and extended weight ranges, the latter allowing higher wing loadings for more dynamic flying, the former being suited to hike-and-fly and thermalling.
Gin say the new planform and arc have created an agile wing that feels compact and well balanced in all conditions and which climbs easily with a flat, efficient turn. It was trimmed and tuned with students in mind, and Gin say it is more damped than its predecessor and the brake travel is long and progressive.
The lower lines are sheathed for easy handling, upper lines are unsheathed. The cells are now supported with nitinol rods instead of plastics. It is made from 27g/m² cloth and comes with 12mm Kevlar webbing risers as standard; a Dyneema riser set is available as an option, saving 160g in weight.
The Yeti 6 is available in four sizes in red, turquoise or lemon, and weighs 2.42kg in the smallest size with Dyneema risers, or 2.58kg with standard.
