BogdanFly release 700g X-Pizza harness
Aimed at hike-and-fly pilots, the X-Pizza weighs less than a kilo
12 March, 2025, by Cross CountryFor the pilot who values weight saving above all, BogdanFly have created a 700g cocoon harness. Designed with hike-and-fly competitions in mind, the X-Pizza, claim BF, is the “lightest certified cocoon in the world”.
Features include an inflatable back protector, softlinks and a two-step speedbar. It also has a removable front parachute container, side pocket and up to 18l of storage.
“The hardest part and the main innovation was to design the harness without a footboard,” said Bogdan. “Instead, there is a special hammock for the feet, inside which a backpack is folded for additional comfort. A lot of flight tests had to be done before it worked,” he added.
“As a result, we have a cocoon without a footboard, which is just as comfortable and controllable as a regular cocoon.”
The harness is made from 40g/m2 Skytex fabric and 27g/m2 for the cocoon. It is available in six sizes, certified for maximum weights of 100kg.
