French Paragliding Championship

10 May, 2009

The French paragliding Championship will take place in the Louron Valley, Hautes Pyrenees, from 21 – 28 June 2009. Reigning champions Simon Issenhut and female World Champion Elisa Houdry will join 118 of France’s other top competitors, along with 20 high level pilots from other nations, to compete against the beautiful backdrop of the Pyrenees, landing in the field next to Lac de Genos, where a fun and lively atmosphere cannot fail to prevail.

An environmentally clean event is promised, competitors using cable cars to get to launch, and recycling bins and dry toilets will be in place at take off and at competition headquarters. An exhibition and conference on birds of prey will be set up in support of the French bird protection league (LPO), and wheelchair flying demonstrations on the Wednesday and Thursday aim to promote flying for those with disabilities.
