Venezuelan born Herminio Cordido, best known for his role in the cult paragliding movie ‘Never Ending Thermal’, is joining the XC Mag team as a video correspondent.
Flying paragliders since he was 13 years old, Herminio, now 31, has been a member of the Venezuelan Paragliding National team for 10 years and is a factory competition pilot for Ozone. Whilst racing is an aspect of the sport he loves, acro is his true passion.
It’s not just paragliding that rocks Herminio’s boat though: skydiving, surfing and skateboarding are amongst the other adventure sports that capture his imagination.
That imagination led to Herminio pursuing a career in photography, and in particular video. After learning the ropes with his Dad’s video camera back in his youth, Herminio went through the Roberto Mata Photography School in Caracas before moving north to Canada where he graduated in 2006 specialising in cinematography in Toronto.
Nowadays Herminio travels the world in search of exciting and unusual video projects. His heart still lies in paragliding and hang gliding though so when he offered his talents to XC Mag we rightly snapped him up. His first video assignment for us is the Panamerican Hang gliding Championship which is running from the 15 – 21 May. His first video report will be posted not long after.
Welcome aboard the XC mag team Herminio! We’re looking forward to your work.
