European paragliding record falls

Saturday 2 August, 2008

Czech pilot Karel Vejchodsky launched his Gradient Avax XC 2 on Monday 28 July at Nove Sady in the Czech Republic, and landed 335.94 km later in Germany breaking the European distance record (yet to be ratified).

The flight, which began with a tow launch took Karel across the plains of the Czech Republic and across the border into German Bavaria, took Karel seven and a half hours.

A full report appears in issue 119 of Cross Country.

Karel also runs XContest, the online global XC league, sponsored by Cross Country magazine. Karel’s flight is uploaded for you to study in GoogleEarth.
