Trim-checking your paraglider’s lines at regular intervals ensures optimum performance, handling and safety – and this is becoming even more widely acknowledged with the development of two-liners.
Most World Cup pilots routinely trim-check at the start of a competition and at regular intervals to ensure optimum performance.
While achieving the same accuracy as higher-cost metal line-measuring tools, the SRS Glider Trimmer is lightweight and easily portable, allowing you to trim-check your lines when travelling with tools you’re familiar with.

- Note that production variations mean there may be some blemishes on the surface finish but this does not affect accuracy or use. Colours may also vary.
You will also need…
- A laser measure. Easily sourced online, choose a simple, low-cost laser such as the Bosch PLR 30 C, or a fully featured product with Excel linking, like the Leica DISTO D1 or D2.
- Trimming sheets. These are usually in Excel format and can be downloaded from your paraglider manufacturer’s website. Simply enter the measurements and the sheet will tell you if your wing is too fast or too slow, with an indication of what changes to make. You will also need access to a weight (such as a 5kg water ballast bag).
