This annual speedriding festival takes place from 28 March to 4 April 2020. All levels are welcome, and riders will be mixing with and learning from some of the world’s top pros including Martin Schricke, Francois Bon, Maxence Cavalade, Yo Casta and Jules Gentet.
It’s run by skiandfly.com, who offer various packages which include accommodation (various options), daily workshops and clinics, plus there will be equipment available to test and social activities. Private coaching sessions are available at extra cost.
The dates for the 2020 Airtour, Saint Hilaire’s seven-day hike-and-fly race, have been set: 13-21 June 2020.
It will be the seventh edition of the tour. The route is likely to be some 300km long, starting from Saint Hilaire, the exact details to be disclosed nearer the time.
One of the world’s biggest paramotor fly-ins, the Mondiale Air Paramotor, will take place 19-21 June 2019 in Blois, France.
Close to Paris, the fly-in is expected to attract hundreds of paramotor pilots from across Europe and further afield.
The Mondiale takes place every two years.
The 15th Ozone Chabre Open will take place from 4-10 July 2019 (which is a week later than initially advertised – it’s been moved to avoid the Tour de France which passes through the week before).
The fun and friendly week-long competition is for EN-C and below gliders, and is meet-directed by Jocky Sanderson. It’s an educational comp with briefings, debriefs, talks and social events as well as the flying, and it’s always oversubscribed.
Registration opens on 19 January 2019. It’s first-come-first-served but with an element of manual selection too, explained on the event website and below:
Our aim is to ensure a good balance of entries across the classes, while prioritising, where possible, team entries. Entry will still largely be on a ‘first registered, first in’ basis, but within certain criteria.
There will be quotas on:
Number of Rookies
Number of women
Numbers of Fun, Recreation and Sport class gliders
Plus: A number of ‘wild cards’ allocated by the organisers for sponsors and to complete teams.
