The NSW State Titles foot-launch hang gliding XC competition takes in Manilla from 17-23 February 2019.
Organisers say,
“The comp attracts the best of the best from Australia and around the world, so is the ideal site for up-and-coming pilots to learn from those at the top of their game. It is also the ideal comp for newer pilots wishing to fly big air and fly big flights.”
HQ is the Royal Hotel, Manilla.
The sixth annual El Peñón Classic Race is back again in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, starting 24 February 2019.
There will be two practice days followed by five competition days, with tasks ranging from around 40km to 65km.
Organisers say:
“For those who haven’t visited this magical spot, incredibly, every day is flyable, offering plentiful thermals and convergence lift. Valle itself is a gorgeous little lakeside town with plenty of activities, and top notch restaurants and bars to enjoy a victory mezcal, or recharge after a long day of flying”.
Altitude with Attitude run a series of fly-ins for female pilots in Australia.
The Dubbo fly-in is a towing event for up to seven participants. Organisers say,
“We will be in the tow paddock from mid morning till late afternoon. Breakfast will be briefing time, dinner will be debrief. We will start and finish in Dubbo but where we fly will be up to the weather-gods!”
The entry fee is to be confirmed, but will include meals. You will be sleeping under the stars!

Wings out West 2019 is Australia’s only ground-tow paragliding competition which takes place from 13-17 March 2019 in the central NSW flatlands.
A small, select gathering of just 35 pilots will be able to compete, and at the time of writing there is only one place left!
The Cross Country 101 Clinic is a mentoring competition for hang glider pilots that takes place in Groveland, Florida in March 2019.
Organisers say it is a perfect opportunity to learn cross-country skills and stretch your cross-country experience, as well as a great warm-up to the 2019 Green Swamp Sport Klassic, which takes place the following week.
Advanced pilot mentors will be on hand to help small groups of pilots. Evening get-togethers to go over the day’s experience are all part of the event, and you can expect flight-instrument lessons and lessons on weather forecasting.
To tae part, pilots need to have a Hang 2 rating with aerotow sign-off. (Aerotow practice and sign-off is available before and during the event).

The entry fee of $200 includes $100 Wilotree Park Fee. In addition there will be an aerotow fee, likely in the region of $30 per tow.

The Paragliding World Cup Superfinal takes place in Baixo Guandu, Brazil from 19-30 March 2019.
The event can be followed via the live commentary and tracking on the Paragliding World Cup website, or on the PWCA app, which now has photos and a ‘follow’ button.

The Aeros Winter Race takes place in the Vipava valley, Slovenia from 20-24 March 2019, with 27 March – 1 April as reserve dates.

The X-Berg Challenge is a fun and very flexible race. You can choose your discipline between paragliding, running and mountain biking, or mix it up, and plan your own route between the turnpoints.
Extreme 3-day race 20-24 March 2019
140 km (as the crow flies)
If mountain biking you can expect to cover 310km to 340km (depending on your route-finding!) and 10,000m elevation gain.
Mini 2-day race 21-24 March 2019
40km (as the crow flies)
If mountain biking you can expect to cover 105km to 115km and 3,200m elevation gain.
