Altitude with Attitude run a series of fly-ins for female pilots in Australia.
The Dubbo fly-in is a towing event for up to seven participants. Organisers say,
“We will be in the tow paddock from mid morning till late afternoon. Breakfast will be briefing time, dinner will be debrief. We will start and finish in Dubbo but where we fly will be up to the weather-gods!”
The entry fee is to be confirmed, but will include meals. You will be sleeping under the stars!
Check the Altitude with Attitude website for more information.
Empesos is to host the 2019 Greek Paragliding Championship, which will also be a pre World Cup event.
Organisers say the site is well known as a competition venue, offering outstanding views, plentiful thermals, friendly locals and excellent fresh local food.

The $50 pilot registration fee includes a T-shirt and hat. Pilots can camp onsite – there will be toilet facilities and food trucks – or there are two motels in the town.
There will be a trade show, cross country scavenger hunt with cash prizes and other friendly comps and fireworks on 25th.

The UK’s music and flying festival, Parafest, returns to the stunning setting of Caerwys in North Wales in July 2019.
Parafest is the UK’s only event for all foot launched and single-seat trike aviation. The festival site is ideally placed for access to both coastal and mountain flying, with several North Wales flying sites a short drive away for free-flyers, and a dedicated field for powered craft to use from Thursday to Sunday.
There will be a trade show with demo equipment available, and the British Vintage Hang Glider Rally will be on site with up to 40 fully rigged gliders charting the history of UK hang gliding from its beginnings to the present day.
The pilot-run ‘Fly Inn’ bar will be stocked with Welsh real ales, gins, rums, Pimms, Prosecco, cocktails and more. In addition there will be arts and crafts markets, a children’s area, live music from 1pm to 1am on the Friday and Saturday nights, sideshows and much more.
Tickets are on sale now and cost £65 for pilots (Thursday to Sunday) or £55 for non-flyers. Under-16s are free and dogs are welcome. Organisers warn, “Parafest sells out to capacity every year and tickets must be bought in advance from the website”.
The FAI World Hang Gliding Championship takes place every two years, and 2019 is a Championship year! The 22nd event will take place from 12-27 July 2019 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.
Organisers say tasks will explore far and wide, and may well take pilots across borders into Slovenia and Austria.
The 16th Paragliding World Championships take place in Krushevo, Macedonia this August.
Will the French be knocked from their top spots? Pierre Rémy and Seiko Fukuoka-Naville are reigning champions, finishing on top in Monte Avena in 2017.
The Italian Open / Monte Cucco International trophy takes place in Sigillo, Italy from 10-18 August 2019, and is to be a test event for the 2020 European Class 1 Championships.
The flying arena is the Alta Valle del Chiascio and the mountain ridges of the Monte Cucco Massif in Sigillo, a place that has hosted numerous high-level hang gliding competitions before.
The entry fee includes a T-shirt, dinner and packed lunches but pilots need to organise their own lifts to launch and retrieves. The organisation can provide contact details for shuttle drivers if necessary.
