Green Swamp Sport Klassic 2019

“The weather turns soarable in February/March in Florida and Willowtree Park is a great place for cross-country flying”, say organisers of the Green Swamp Sport Klassic.

Sponsored by Wills Wing and hosted by The Oz Report, the GSSK is a mentored competition specifically intended for newer pilots or experienced pilots that are looking to get into flying hang gliding competitions.

Quest Air nationals and pre-Worlds week 1

The Quest Air Nationals flatland competition will take place in Florida from 14-19 April 2019. This Week 1 event is also a pre-Worlds round.

The competition has Open, Sport, Women’s, Swift, and Rigid wing classes, and Flymaster trackers will be provided for live tracking,

It is USHPA and CIVL sanctioned, which means USHPA NTSS and CIVL WPRS points will be awarded.

This is the second week of Quest Air Nationals hang gliding flatlands competition.

As with week one, there will be live tracking (Flymaster trackers provided) and the competition is USHPA and CIVL sanctioned, so USHPA NTSS and CIVL WPRS points will be awarded.

East Coast Championship

East Coast Championship 2019The East Coast Championship returns to Ridgely Maryland in 2019.

A practice day will be followed by seven task days, with live trackers (provided) for scoring and free on-site camping.

Come and fly the former home of Highland Aerosports with some of the best pilots in the country during the peak conditions of the season. Landing fields as far as the eye can see. The race to goal competition is USHPA sanctioned and CIVL sanctioned. Free camping available on site. Pilots must have their H3 with XC and AT skills“.

The US Paragliding Open will take place in Chelan from 7-13 July 2019. It is an FAI cat 2 and USHPA sanctioned XC competition, with Open, Sports and Women’s classes.

Big Spring Nationals 2019The 17th Big Spring Nationals takes place at Big Spring, Texas from 10-17 August 2019.

The site of the 2007 World Hang Gliding Championship, organisers say Big Spring is “the finest cross-country hang gliding competition site in the World”.

They say you can expect big tasks, smooth thermals, unrestricted landing areas, easy retrieval and consistent cu’s at 1pm!

Classes are Swifts, Rigids, Women’s, Sport and Open.
