The X-DeadC is a new hike-and-fly competition that will take place in the untamed landscape of Israel’s Dead Sea region, from 1-3 December 2023.
Organisers say it will be, “Three days of desert air-games” in terrain, “so wild that even the local ibex raise an eyebrow!”
It will be a test of fitness, flying skills and navigation, with 30-60km tasks set daily according to the weather forecast. The tasks are self-supported but, “a pickup van will be available for these who make it to the road.”
Organisers say the conditions in November are usually mellow, and the competition is open to pilots with previous hike-and-fly experience. Numbers are limited to 30 participants, and the closing date for entries is 30 September 2023.
