The XC-Open team have a new photo album online, with images by Werner Schuetz and Fernando Pradi from the Araxá event last month.
Organisers would like to publically thank the Clube Araxaense de Vóo Livre, its president José Wilson, the city of Araxá, the Virgilius Palace Hotel and Sol Paragliders for their support of the competition. The sponsorship of the 30 free places in the hotel and free of charge retrieves for all pilots was much appreciated, and the offer has been repeated for 2010.
Organisers and pilots are now looking forward to the next XC-Open, Manilla. Registration is open and places are filling up fast – you can register here (the reduced fee of 130 Euros stands until 30 November, after which it is 160 Euros).
The Australian Competition Manual has been revised and now allows multiple task formats: Open Distance and Optimised Distance are now valid formats, so it’s possible for XC-Open type tasks to receive ladder points for the Australian ranking.
