US paragliding instructor Kevin Lee is auctioning a P-2 paragliding course in order to raise money for a school in Canoa, Ecuador.
Kevin has been an instructor for 14 years, and works in the Woodrat Mountain area of Oregon, US. Every year he leads paragliding tours to Ecuador. His admiration of the culture has inspired him to ‘give back’ to the country that has given him so much, so he is raising money for the school which educates low-income children in the community.
Although the school struggles to stay afloat financially, Kevin says, “it is rich in community support and parent involvement. The money you spend on your P-2 course will go a long way in Ecuador: just $250 can send a kid to school for a year”.
As an added bonus, if the auction winner signs up for one of Kevin’s Ecuador flying tours, he will donate the tour fees to the school as well.
A P2 course usually costs $1,800 and at the time of wririting, the current bid on his auction is $1,000. Bidding ends on 31 August 2010.
