Registration for the 6th Ozone Chabre Open, which takes place 4 – 10 June this year, begins at 20:00 GMT tonight.

If you would like to take part you are advised to register as soon as possible, as it has previously filled up very quickly (within hours, one year).

Organisers say, “If the competition is over-subscribed, some selection criteria will be applied, but we will confirm by email whether you have a place before 10 February.

“There will be prizes for different glider classes, girls and rookies, and teams of course.  The X-class will include LTF2-3 gliders and selected hot-shot pilots”.

No competition wings are allowed in this event whose emphasis is more on nurturing new competition pilots. As such meet director Jocky Sanderson will be giving in-depth and educational briefings and debriefs.

The UK’s Airways Airsports BHPA-accredited school will be running a dedicated pre-comp training week at the site from 28 May – 3 June, during which time pilots will be accommodated at the Allez-Up luxury villa, complete with en-suite rooms and swimming pool, just outside Laragne.

More information and updates can be found at the Ozone Chabre Open website.
